We are planning an opening day on May 9th at both sites and STRONGLY recommend that all gardeners come and volunteer for at least some of the time. Compost and hay will be available for use on your plots.

Activities during opening day include:

  • Meeting fellow gardeners and board members

  • Tours of the gardens and information about GCG for new and returning members (10:30 am and 12 pm)

  • Overview of square foot gardening (12 pm at Goldenrod site)

Date - Saturday, May 9, 2026 (Rain date: Sunday, May 10, 2026)

Time - 10:00am to 2:00 pm

Location - The Goldenrod garden and The Parkdale-Bullman garden

Join Goldenrod Community Garden's former board member Tanya Salewski for an information session about getting your plot ready for spring!

Date - Sunday, March 29, 2026

Time - 2:00 to 4:00 pm

Location - Hintonburg Community Centre

Room - Basement No. 1

The workshop will cover seed starting, planning and planting your garden.

Don't forget to bring a pot/container (e.g., paper/plastic cup, yogourt container etc.) to participate in a hands-on seed starting demo.

Gardeners will also have the opportunity to seed swap. We encourage gardeners to bring any seeds they want to share.

Seed availability will range from those that can be started indoors and to those which can be directly sowed in the spring.

The Goldenrod Community Garden Board is run by plot volunteers and the garden wouldn't be possible without its Board. Board members generally meet virtually once or twice a month to coordinate garden maintenance, communications, events and registration.

If you believe in the garden and think you could help with the Board, please consider applying to be a board member at our AGM. Feel free to reach out to goldenrodregistrar@gmail.com if you have any questions before the AGM.
