Annual General Meeting: Oct 18, 2026

The annual general meeting (AGM) will take place Sunday, October 18th from 2:00 - 3:00 pm, at the Hintonburg Community Centre in the Wellington room.

Attendance is expected of all gardeners, but we understand that unexpected circumstances or significant commitments may sometimes make it difficult to attend. Please note there will be no online link for this meeting, and it will be held in person only.

During the meeting we will provide a report on the season, open the floor to questions and issues, and elect a new board. If anyone would like to learn more about how the board works before the annual general meeting please reach out to inbox@goldenrodgarden.org.

Closing Day & Pizza Party: Oct 24, 2026

Winter is coming! 🌬️🐺 And before it does, the GCG is having our final and closing work party. Join us Saturday, October 24th, from 10 am - 12 pm at both garden sites.

If you would like assistance in taking your garden down, or are planning to continue gardening after closing day, please fill out this form.

You may also place a sign in your plot, or send an email to Registrar@goldenrodgarden.org saying that your plot remains active.

And as a final thank-you to our gardeners, the GCG Board will be hosting a pizza party at noon @ the Goldenrod site🍕

Please note we are required to ensure our garden is neat and tidy for the winter. Closing day is the time to pull up dying plants and take down structures. If you are unable to attend closing day please clean up your plot before October 24th. Volunteers will be cleaning plots on the 24th and may pull plants and remaining unsecured structures out of your plot if it is not neat on closing day. To best prepare your bed for the winter, gardeners should put a fresh layer of compost, and cover the plot with straw.

Seed Saving Workshop/Potluck: September 20, 2026

We invite gardeners to join us at the Goldenrod Garden on Sunday, September 20, 2026 at 5:00 pm for a seed saving workshop followed by a potluck from 5:30 to 6:30 pm.

Due to limited seating, please bring a lawn chair for yourself if you have one. See you there!

Don't forget there's also a work party this weekend on September 13, 2026 at both sites.
